Vaqueros De Barcelona.

The Vaqueros de Barcelona Project was created to celebrate independent street artists who contribute to a richer and more colourful society; to honor those who convert the streets into a living gallery for everyone to enjoy.

Vaqueros De Barcelona was founded by Anthon Maxus Christophersen, a writer and director from Denmark, and Marc Mascort I Boix, a Catalan Cultural Activist and Detonator.

The name “Vaqueros De Barcelona” (Cowboys of Barcelona) was chosen because, since the city passed the Civic law of 2005 that outlawed street art, the conditions of the Barcelona artists have become more and more like the Wild West

The Vaqueros De Barcelona project is actualized in two ways: Wild Painting Parties and the making of a documentary.

Wild Painting Party.

The goal for the WPP is to bring artists from Barcelona to other European cities to paint with other great artists. The local public is invited in for a great view and a party. Right now we’re looking for places in Lisbon and other European cities as well. We’re looking forward to bringing great art to the rest of Europe.

The movie: “Vaqueros De Barcelona.”

We have already been spending time filming and interviewing many artists. Right now we are talking with production companies and looking for the right format for the movie, in order to transform the vast beauty of the artists and their art to the big screen.
